Obesity
Obesity is normally seen as a side issue to the actual functional limitations caused by the obesity related problems. In other words the case will focus on problems caused by the obesity such as high blood pressure, diabetes, shortness of breath or arthritis. Many times, a person who is severely obese will have sleep apnea and a CPAP mask may be required to allow for proper breathing while sleeping. The issue at a hearing will be whether the combination of these obesity related impairments and the lack of mobility caused by the obesity rise to the level of preventing employment.
