This impairment needs to be diagnosed by a rheumatologist. Normally, 18 trigger points must be found in order to make a proper diagnosis of fibromyalgia. The trigger points are really discrete tender points which are in predictable, precise locations on the body. This impairment normally occurs in women of childbearing age. The most common complaint is muscle and joint pain with stiffness and fatigue. Rheumatologists normally will not give favorable reports for fibromyalgia unless the case is severe.
