If your doctor cannot identify what medical condition you have, then the focus will have to be on the credibility of your functional limitations. If your doctor says you have serious functional limitations, but he or she is unable to state what the cause is, then your doctor must provide a written opinion as to your functional limitations. Most importantly, your doctor must state why your functional limitations are authentic. Naturally, the Social Security Administration will be luscious of an impairment that cannot be identified by a doctor.
